8th EMERGENCY MEDICINE CONGRESS with International Participation
Vodice, Croatia, 13. - 15. March 2025.
Dear colleagues and friends in emergency medicine,
It is my great pleasure to invite you to Vodice for the 8th CONGRESS OF EMERGENCY MEDICINE FOR NURSES AND MEDICAL TECHNICIANS with international participation, which will be held from March 13 to 15, 2025. The Croatian Nursing Society of Emergency Medicine is organizing this congress under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and the Croatian Institute of Emergency Medicine, for which I express my heartfelt thanks.
Emergency medicine is the cornerstone of the healthcare system, serving as the first line of defense in serious and critical situations. The daily management of emergency patients in both pre-hospital and hospital settings presents significant professional challenges for emergency medicine staff, making it crucial for us to continue advancing and refining our skills. This year's congress will cover various aspects of emergency medicine, starting with the management of strokes. We will explore current challenges and opportunities for improving the treatment of this common condition in collaboration with the international non-commercial project Angels Initative, focusing on faster recognition of stroke symptoms and patient referral to hospitals, as well as appropriate therapy. Additionally, we will discuss the Helicopter Emergency Medicine Service, which has been established in Croatia as a special service within EMS since 2024. We will also pay special attention to professional development and continuous education for both professionals and laypersons, as lifelong learning and improvement are essential for ensuring a high level of effectiveness. We will discuss the ever-relevant issues of major accidents and disasters and explore ways to optimize and manage crisis situations more effectively. In the context of pediatric patients, we will identify specific challenges faced by EMS teams, ensuring that the need for specialized knowledge and skills in this group is fully addressed. Finally, we will emphasize the importance of professional and layperson resuscitation, as well as share experiences through presentations of unusual cases from which we can all learn a great deal.
I am confident that the selected topics will pique your interest and that the congress will meet your expectations. Your active participation will add special value to the congress, so I invite you to contribute with your comprehensive papers, abstracts, and posters to help achieve the goals of the congress.
I would like to thank everyone who has helped in the organization and realization of the congress and look forward to our shared gathering in Vodice!
Sincerely, SAŠA BALIJA, MsN.
